Floral Nails

I showed this nail art attempt in yesterdays blog post but I thought I'd show you in a bit more detail. I've seen a few floral designs like this on Tumblr but after seeing it on Hannah's blog I thought I'd give it a go myself.
I didn't do the best job but I don't think it's that bad for a first attempt and I like the Cath Kidston-y style :)

Here's what I used to create it..
Models Own: Blooboo, Green Grass, Hot Pink and Snow White.
Nail Art Brush: eBay.

I've mentioned before that I love using Models Own polishes for nail art  as they have a great consistency and don't tend to smudge.
Like Hannah, I started by blobbing on random spots of the pink, then went over it with swirls of the white and added two little green lines coming off each 'flower' to create leaves.. and voilĂ , a lot more simple than you'd think :)

Bring me flowers

Top: Topshop. Skirt: Asos (via eBay).
Necklace: Forever 21. Ring: H&M.

Not exactly the most summery of outfits but the weather is awful just lately. My town has a parade every year on the May bank holiday but it absolutely poured down today, I think it still went ahead but I feel sorry for all the kiddies :( I used to get so excited about it when I was little.
My latest dabble in nail art.. I'll give you a better look in tomorrows post.

My big hair is back! I haven't had it cut for over a year and because my layers have pretty much grown out my thick hair is weighed down and has lost the ability to hold volume. I bought a backcomb brush on Saturday from Sallys Beauty Supply and it's worked a treat. I just recorded my May Favourites video where I talk a little more about it, should be up tomorrow :)

If you haven't already it would really help me out if you can give my previous post a read and give me any advice you have.

Eyes: No7 AW10 Eyeshadow Palette, No7 Amazing Eyes liner, MAC Haute & Naughty Mascara.
Lips: Chanel Hydrabase Lipstick in Simply Pink

Hope you've enjoyed the bank holiday :)

Blog Love

I know I've been slack on the blogging front lately but I've still been reading all of yours, and I've discovered some more fabulous ones too that I can't believe I didn't know existed!

Claire from Sitting Pretty
I found Claire's blog through the 'Who To Follow' bit on Twitter, and I'm so glad I did! She's beautiful and has such great style! Outfit snaps, shopping features, tips and tricks recipes and beauty posts give such a great mix. After reading through a few pages of posts I can see it's going to become a firm favourite of mine.

I discovered Hannah through the Royal Wedding blogger collaboration I was involved in. Since then I have had some lovely chat with her on twitter, she is a beautiful girl with a beautiful personality. I'm throughly enjoying her blog and her cute style :)

 H from 25FLONDON
Amazing photos and beautifully written, honest reviews. This is exactly what I love to see from a beauty blog! I've already spent way too much money from products featured on there! Another one I found from the 'Who To Follow' section on Twitter.

Lucy from Grazed Knees
Another discovered from the Royal Wedding bloggers feature. Grazed Knees is mix of fashion, beauty and great life chat.. I really love Lucy's blog. Her nail polish obsession has leaked into my collection, as I've had to purchase a few more colours since reading her posts!

Are there any great blogs out there you can introduce me to?

Glossy Holiday Make Up

Hello, this is my poor excuse for a blog post..

Still from my latest make-up tutorial

I'm using the classic excuse of Uni work to explain why I haven't blogged in a week (I'm also avoiding my blog because I now hate the new layout and haven't got time to change it). But I did film a make up tutorial for a simple, glossy natural look.

My first time appearing on the internet with not a bit of make up on.. kind of preparing myself for Alyse's Dare to Bare feature!

Anyway here's the video, would be a great look if you're lucky enough to be going somewhere hot on holiday and maybe only taking a carry on.. (thanks for the beautiful thumbnail youtube!)

Product list and links to buy are in the description box here.

Hope you've all had a fab weekend.

B.Liv by Cellnique Off With Those Heads

A few weeks ago B.Liv by Cellnique emailed me asking if I wanted to try one of their skincare products, they asked me what my age and skin type was, and any problems i have with my skin. I told Selina the representative that I had dry to combination skin, but I have some redness and uneven skin tone. I suffer from blackheads around my nose and occasional breakouts. So she sent me this product from their Blackheads range.

Off With Those Heads is a sebum gel and here is the description online "Say goodbye to painful squeezing! This light cooling gel promises to remove stubborn blackheads and whiteheads painlessly in just 14 days of application and stop them from appearing ever again. It keeps excessive oil secretion under control and skin irritation will never rule again."

I was a little dubious as to how well this product would work for me, as I've tried spot gels before such as Freederm and Dermologica Overnight Clearing Gel (which incidentally are extremely similar for the big difference in price) but they sometimes stung, were very drying and only bought the spot out faster rather than keeping it at bay or preventing it all together.
This gel has worked wonders though! It's a very light formulation which is cooling rather than stinging and doesn't dry to a crusty layer, it sinks into the skin instead. It's unblocked my pores, got rid of and prevented breakouts. My skin has been fantastic since using this product.. obviously not perfect but whenever I feel a spot emerging I just pop a little of this on before bed and its non-existant within a day and never comes to a head.
I would really recommend this product if you have similar skin to me, definitely check out their other products too!

Although I was sent this product to review all opinions are 100% my own.

Wash Away The Rain

*Update* Sorry, this post is from May, who knows why blogger has decided to post it again in July!

Top: Asos. Jacket: TK Maxx. Jeans: Dorothy Perkins. Shoes: Firetrap.
Ring: Asos. Necklace and Bracelet: Gifts.

Although this is a little different from outfits I usually show on here I think this is what I would call my staple. I only post outfits maybe 2/3 times a week (ok, I know it's been nowhere near that lately) but the rest of the time you'll find me in something like this. I live in leather jackets, I think it's an obsession, but this one is by far my favourite. Worn with an oversized top, jeans or tights and a black body con skirt and bright lipstick.. it's is kind of my uniform.
These are my favourite shoes ever! I wear them all the time and they are so comfortable, I really regret not getting the black ones when they were available.. if anyone knows where I can get a black pair in a UK7 then please please please let me know!

I went to see Water for Elephants last night, and I didn't think it was that good. It seemed like a bit of a rip off of Titanic on a train and the actual story didn't start until about half an hour before the end. I do want an elephant now, and I still have an undying love for R-Patz. Reese Witherspoons make up was gorgeous though, I might do a tutorial on it next week :)

Lips: Estee Lauder Double Wear in Stay Scarlet.

I'm in love with Mac Studio Tech foundation, but I'll do a proper review on it soon :)

Hair Tutorial: Loose Curls

I've had a lot of requests asking me how to get the loose curls I often have. So here is a video showing you how I do it :)
I've also re-ombred my hair so it's an excuse to show you that too!

Sorry for the terrible webcam quality but I now have a new SD card so they'll be back to normal from now on.

Turquoise Nail Polishes

As you've all seen, turquoise is kind of a big thing this season, so here are a few of my favourite turquoise nail polishes (yes I actually have more than this!).

 Models Own Top Turquoise
This is probably the truest turquoise of my selection, I love the colour, it's really stunning in real life and works great for all skin tones. Definitely a staple for the summer! All Models Own polishes cover well, you could probably get away with 1 coat but I like to use 2 so it's truly opaque. The wear is great especially if you have a good base and top coat.

H&M No Mambo Jambo
This is another great colour but a more shimmery turquoise. This is my only polish from H&M, not because it's bad, the H&M in Birmingham is a nightmare and I had a bad ordering online experience with them as I know many others have! It needs a good 2 coats but the wear is pretty good for a shimmer :)

Ciate Ditch the Heels
I absolutely love Ciate polishes, they are probably my favourite brand, they do the best colours and the wear is amazing! This is a little more green than turquoise but it's too pretty not to include!

I uploaded a new make-up tutorial today :)

Let's Lightening

Top: New Look. Blazer: Clothing at Tesco. Jeans: Dorothy Perkins. Necklace: Vintage.

Having a bright day today :). It's still beautifully sunny in England, but the wind has cooled it down a bit so I can have a few layers again. I love this top, it's so versatile, I've worn it dressed up and down and had so many compliments on the amazing colour.

I hope you all enjoyed the royal wedding, I LOVED it! Got to admit I shed a little tear while watching it. Her dress was fabulous and the balcony kiss was so cute :). Like every other girl in the world I am now determined to marry Prince Harry!
My friend had a garden party in the afternoon which was so much fun; badmintion, bbq food, eton mess and lots of wine :) I also went into town at night. Lets just say a busy Saturday at work after 12 hours of drinking is not fun!

I spent the rest of the bank holiday studying, which, at the moment, I'm really enjoying. I'm on the business modules now and I'm finding it all really interesting, and I think my work is really helping too, as I can associate it all to the shop.
